VK / VM Resist-Type Distributor

The VK / VM Resist-Type Distributor is a manifold of calibrated restrictions for oil circuits: the simplest and cheapest way to feed a group of lubrication points. Built with 2, 4, 6 or 8 outlets on Ø4 main and branch tube throughout, with Ø7 fixing holes.

How it works

Each outlet carries a calibrated restriction. Oil divides between the outlets according to those restrictions, continuously, for as long as the pump runs, so the dose a point receives is set by run time rather than by cycle count.

That makes the VK / VM the cheapest way to feed a group of points, and the most robust: there is no piston, no spring and no valve inside the block, so there is nothing to seize or to re-meter.

VK blocks come in two, four, six and eight outlets on 34 to 118 mm hole centres. The VM-4-8 is the same four-outlet function on 21 mm centres, for a mounting the VK will not fit.

VK-4-84 outlets, 62 mm hole centres
VK-6-86 outlets, 90 mm hole centres
VK-8-88 outlets, 118 mm hole centres
VM-4-84 outlets, compact 21 mm hole centres

VM is the compact four-outlet body: same function as VK-4-8 on 21 mm hole centres instead of 62 mm.

Installation notes

Mounting is by two Ø7 holes per body, on hole centres set by outlet count: 34 mm at VK-2-8, rising to 118 mm at VK-8-8, or a compact 21 mm on the VM-4-8 where the 62 mm VK-4-8 centres don't fit. Main and branch tube run Ø4 throughout on M8×1 ports, so the same fittings serve every outlet regardless of model.

The pump feeding it must run without a pressure take-off mechanism: the take-off relieves the very line pressure the VK / VM depends on holding, so fitting one wrong stops the manifold metering at all.

Before you order

  • Resist-type distribution is proportional, not metered. Where each point needs a stated volume per cycle, specify RH-3 or 35 type instead.
  • A pump with a pressure take-off mechanism is wrong for this block: the take-off relieves the line the VK depends on holding.

Warranty

One year against manufacturing defect from date of invoice.

How it pairs

The VK / VM Resist-Type Distributor is commonly specified alongside the NKHY / PH Hand Type Oil Pump, the TZ Type Oil Lubrication Pump, the HL Type Oil Lubrication Pump, and the TCJ/TCZ Resist Type Distributor. That is the same recommendation carried on its own datasheet, not a generic same-category suggestion.

Frequently asked questions

Does the VK / VM meter a fixed dose per cycle?

No. Flow divides between outlets proportionally, continuously, for as long as the pump runs. Where a point needs a stated volume per cycle, specify RH-3 or 35 type instead.

Which pump build does the VK / VM need?

One without a pressure take-off mechanism: a TZ or HL pump in the take-off-free build, or the NKHY-8 hand pump. A take-off device relieves the line pressure the VK / VM depends on holding.

What's the difference between VK-4-8 and VM-4-8?

The same four-outlet function on different hole centres: 62 mm on the VK-4-8, a compact 21 mm on the VM-4-8, for a mounting the VK won't fit.
